Project Summary

Textile Worlds is an ongoing series of material experiments that explores the expressive potential of discarded textiles, industrial remnants, and found materials.

The project investigates how fragments of everyday objects can be transformed into new visual and tactile compositions through layering, manipulation, and reconstruction. Combining textile techniques with collage-based thinking, the works exist between fashion, sculpture, and material research.

Reflective surfaces, holographic materials, unusual textures, and unexpected color combinations serve as recurring elements throughout the series. By bringing together materials that would not normally coexist, the works propose alternative use of waste as speculative objects.

Method

The process begins through collecting. Materials are gathered from a wide range of sources including second-hand shops, packaging, gift bags, vinyl offcuts, my business cards, elastics, foils, and other overlooked objects. Then the objects become a library of colors, textures, reflections, and structural possibilities.

Through heat pressing, sewing, printing, cutting, folding, layering, and binding in improvised ways ( stapling, gluing, pinning, or wiring ), the materials are transformed into textile collages, wearable objects, bags, and experimental garments. Many pieces also incorporate self-produced printed materials created through silkscreen printing, sublimation, vinyl transfer, and foil applications.

The resulting works function as material landscapes.
